Not every orthopedic condition can be optimally treated with a single therapy. Depending on the findings, it may be advisable to combine various conservative, regenerative, and minimally invasive procedures in a targeted manner.
At ROC Ortho, we therefore develop personalized treatment plans based on your diagnosis, the affected structures, and your individual needs. The goal is not to use as many therapies as possible. Each intervention should serve a specific purpose within the treatment plan.
In combination therapy, several treatment methods are coordinated with one another. They can be used simultaneously or at different stages of treatment.
For example, medical treatment of the affected structure can be combined with physical therapy and a targeted gradual increase in activity. For other conditions, various regenerative or minimally invasive procedures can be effectively coordinated.
At ROC Ortho, we always determine which combination is appropriate on a case-by-case basis following a thorough evaluation.
Thanks to our wide range of treatments, we at ROC Ortho are able to combine different therapeutic approaches. These include, among others:
Which procedures are actually combined depends on the specific condition and the individual findings.
Physical therapy is an important part of treatment for many orthopedic conditions. While medical therapy targets the affected structure directly, physical therapy can improve mobility, muscle strength, coordination, and endurance.
Through our collaboration with ROC Physio, we can coordinate medical treatment with the gradual increase in physical activity during physical therapy as needed. This can be beneficial, for example, after injections, for tendon issues, as part of osteoarthritis treatment, or following minimally invasive procedures.
Various regenerative or orthobiological procedures can also be part of an individualized treatment plan.
At ROC Ortho, treatments available for this purpose include PRP/autologous blood therapy and selected cell-based procedures. Depending on the condition and the state of the tissue, these can be combined with other conservative or minimally invasive treatments.
Which combination is medically appropriate depends on the diagnosis and the specific treatment goal. For this reason, we do not offer regenerative treatment as a standardized package.
For osteoarthritis, the ROC offers a variety of conservative and regenerative treatment options. These include, for example, physical therapy and muscle-building exercises, as well as injection therapies using PRP, hyaluronic acid, or Arthrosamid®.
The choice of treatment and whether a combination of different approaches is appropriate depends, among other things, on the affected joint, the severity of the osteoarthritis, your symptoms, and your activity level. Our goal is to tailor the treatment so that the individual measures work together effectively.
For chronic tendon conditions, it may also be beneficial to combine different treatment approaches. Depending on the findings, for example, activity modification and physical therapy can be combined with focused or radial shock wave therapy. For certain conditions, regenerative treatments may also be considered. For persistent structural changes in the tendons, the ROC also offers minimally invasive treatment options such as Tenex Health TX ®.
We determine which treatment or combination of treatments is appropriate after a thorough examination of the affected tendon.
We offer a specialized form of combination therapy for select meniscus injuries. If a meniscus tear is suitable for minimally invasive meniscus repair, the damaged area can be specifically treated and stabilized. When indicated, the procedure can be supplemented with regenerative or orthobiological therapy. The goal is to preserve the meniscus as much as possible and to support the biological conditions necessary for healing. Whether this combination is an option depends primarily on the type, location, and severity of the meniscus injury.
The appropriate treatment cannot be determined based on a diagnosis alone. Two patients with the same condition may have different symptoms, structural changes, and physical demands. That is why combination therapy at ROC Ortho begins with a thorough orthopedic evaluation. Depending on the patient’s symptoms, we may use ultrasound, digital X-rays, or our open MRI, among other tools.
We will then discuss with you which treatment is appropriate as a first step and whether additional measures should be added. We will monitor your progress regularly. If your pain, range of motion, and endurance have already improved sufficiently, further therapy is not automatically necessary.
At ROC Ortho, we combine modern diagnostic techniques with conservative, regenerative, and minimally invasive treatment options.
Our wide range of therapies allows us to combine different approaches whenever it makes medical sense to do so. Our focus is not on the number of treatments, but rather on a treatment plan tailored to your specific condition. Together with you, we determine which treatment steps are necessary and in what order they should be carried out.

In combination therapy, various treatment methods are specifically coordinated with one another. These may include, for example, physical therapy, shock wave therapy, injections, regenerative therapies, or minimally invasive procedures.
Which combination is possible and appropriate depends on the diagnosis. At ROC Ortho, for example, physical therapy, conservative, regenerative, and minimally invasive procedures can all be part of a comprehensive treatment plan.
No. More treatments do not automatically lead to better results. We combine therapies only when the individual measures are appropriate for the specific findings and serve different purposes within the treatment plan.
The foundation is a thorough orthopedic examination. During this examination, we take into account your diagnosis, structural changes, previous treatments, symptoms, and personal physical demands. We then develop a personalized treatment plan.
