Shock wave therapy (radial, focused)

Targeted help for pain in the musculoskeletal system

Focused and radial shock waves for more mobility and quality of life

Shock wave therapy (ESWT) uses mechanical pressure impulses to stimulate the body's natural healing ability - without any medication. Depending on the target and tissue depth, two methods are used: focused shock waves, which have a deeper and more intensive effect, and radial pressure waves with a broader effect on the surface. We often combine both methods in order to achieve the most sustainable treatment results possible.

How does the treatment work?

It is applied via direct skin contact. The intensity is individually tailored to your symptoms and can be adjusted during the treatment. The impulse generated acts on the affected area in the tissue and triggers a familiar pain - a sign that the shock wave is reaching where it is needed.

Improved blood circulation, the release of pain-relieving messenger substances and the activation of the body's own healing cascade provide targeted support for tissue regeneration and repair.

When is shock wave therapy used?

Its efficacy has been well documented in many clinical studies - particularly for:

  • Calcified shoulder
  • Tennis or golfer's elbow
  • Achilles tendon pain
  • Heel spur / plantar fasciitis

Shock wave therapy can also be used to treat muscular trigger points, tendon irritation, unhealed bone fractures, bone marrow edema and early arthrosis.

Quality you can rely on

Shockwave therapy is a well-researched and certified treatment method, which we can always offer in accordance with the current standards of the Digest Association. A treatment lasts about 15 minutes and we usually recommend 3-6 sessions at weekly intervals.
