A medical breakthrough in orthopaedic treatment: the ROC in Aschheim near Munich relies on innovative stem cell therapy with autologous blood for the treatment of chronic wear and tear diseases such as osteoarthritis, tendon and ligament injuries. The new Miracell® SMART M-CELL2 system, which is being used in practice for the first time in Germany, is used exclusively for this purpose. This procedure opens up new avenues in regenerative medicine by specifically activating the body's own healing powers.
Wear and tear diseases such as osteoarthritis are chronic and progressive - traditional treatment methods such as painkillers, orthoses, physiotherapy or surgery usually only offer short-term relief or are associated with risks and long rehabilitation periods. The ROC in Aschheim takes a different approach: stem cell therapy with autologous blood uses the body's natural potential to sustainably regenerate damaged cartilage, bones, tendons and ligaments - without any invasive procedures or side effects.
The ROC in Aschheim is the first clinic in Germany to use the Miracell® SMART M-CELL2 system for the collection and activation of stem cells from autologous blood. This system delivers a highly concentrated cell preparation with improved cell vitality and quality - both of which are crucial for the success of the therapy.
As part of the treatment, 30 to 60 milliliters of blood are taken, processed in the Miracell® centrifuge and stimulated with LED light of different wavelengths. These light pulses increase the regenerative activity of the cells and specifically promote natural wound healing. The end product contains vitalized mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and growth-promoting components of blood plasma - a powerful combination for targeted use in joint complaints.
After preparation, the cell preparation is injected directly into the affected joint, muscle or tendon. The treatment at the ROC in Aschheim only takes around 30 minutes in total, is performed on an outpatient basis and is virtually pain-free. In most cases, no additional painkillers or prolonged downtime are necessary.
Many patients report noticeable pain relief, improved mobility and an overall higher quality of life just a few weeks after treatment. Depending on the individual's initial situation, the therapeutic effect can last for months or even years.
Stem cell therapy with autologous blood at the ROC in Aschheim is used for a variety of indications, including
The major advantage is that it is a minimally invasive, low-risk method that supports the body's own regeneration instead of merely combating symptoms.
In addition to autologous blood, the ROC in Aschheim also uses stem cells from fatty tissue or ear cartilage, depending on the medical indication. The choice of cell type is made individually and is based on the type of disease, the treatment objective and the patient's physical constitution.
The ROC thus offers a patient-centered therapy concept for the treatment of degenerative diseases of the musculoskeletal system that is unique in Germany.
The orthopaedic department at the ROC is one of the few institutions in Germany that is committed to the continuous research, further development and application of modern stem cell technologies. The aim is to sustainably improve the treatment of degenerative joint diseases through scientifically sound, individualized cell therapies.
