What is the Super Inductive System (SIS)?

The Super Inductive System, or SIS for short, is a form of high-intensity magnetic field or induction therapy. At the ROC, we use the BTL-6000 Super Inductive System for this purpose.

The device generates a focused electromagnetic field that can reach even deeper structures. In neuromuscular tissue, this can stimulate nerves and trigger muscle contractions.

Unlike during an active exercise, there is no need to consciously tense the muscles. Depending on the therapeutic goal, different frequencies and intensities can be selected.

How does SIS therapy work?

The effect of the Super Inductive System depends on the selected therapy parameters. By stimulating neuromuscular tissue, various therapeutic effects can be achieved.

These include, in particular:

SIS for Back Pain

Back pain can be related to, among other things, muscle tension, abnormal muscle activation, or other changes in the musculoskeletal system.

The Super Inductive System can be used here as a complementary treatment to reduce pain, relax tense muscles, or activate specific muscle groups.

However, in cases of persistent or recurring back pain, the first step is to determine the cause of the symptoms. At the ROC, we can also utilize advanced orthopedic diagnostic tests and our in-house MRI scanner as needed.

SIS for Muscle Activation and Rehabilitation

After an injury or surgery, certain muscles may temporarily fail to contract sufficiently. The SIS’s electromagnetic field can trigger muscle contractions without the need for active movement.

The therapy can therefore be used as a complementary measure in rehabilitation. However, it is not a substitute for active exercise. As soon as medically feasible, targeted exercise, muscle strengthening, and, if necessary, physical therapy remain important components of treatment.

SIS to Support Bone Healing

Electromagnetic fields are also used in connection with bone healing. The Super Inductive System can therefore be used in selected patients to support the healing process.

Whether such treatment is appropriate depends, among other things, on the type of injury, the healing process to date, and other individual factors.

How does treatment with the Super Inductive System work?

SIS treatment is non-invasive and does not involve needles or surgery.

You will be sitting or lying comfortably during the treatment. The device’s applicator is positioned over the area of the body to be treated. The electromagnetic pulses work through clothing, so the treated area generally does not need to be exposed.

During treatment, depending on the intensity and settings, you may feel a tapping sensation, muscle twitching, or more pronounced muscle contractions.

The intensity is adjusted individually and can be changed during the treatment.

How many SIS treatments are needed?

There is no one-size-fits-all answer to how many sessions are appropriate. The number and frequency of treatments depend on the nature and duration of the symptoms, the treatment goal, and the individual’s progress.

When planning your treatment, we therefore take into account not only the diagnosis but also how you respond to the initial sessions.

Before treatment, we therefore check for any possible contraindications and take into account, among other things, existing implants or electronic medical devices, as well as other individual factors.
