Treatment of a Baker's cyst in the popliteal fossa

A Baker's cyst is a swelling filled with fluid. Measures such as rest, cooling, taking anti-inflammatory drugs and physiotherapy can provide relief. If the cyst is very large, a puncture (aspiration of fluid) can help. Sclerotherapy of the cyst is also possible. Surgery should only be performed in exceptional cases. Find out more in our video.
